We hope that when you come to one of our gatherings you will sense that you belong. We want you to relax, settle in, grab a drink, and be open to what God might have in store for you. We understand that you may have some questions, such as “What should I wear?” “Is there childcare?” “What kind of songs will they sing?” “Will they ask me to stand and introduce myself?!” We have been in that same place with those questions in our minds as well. We want to provide information here that can help put you at ease and give you a glimpse of what Grace Church Spokane is like so that when you step through our doors you can focus on Jesus rather than the butterflies in your stomach. We can’t wait to see you here! If you have any questions, please contact us. We’d love to hear from you.

What Kind Of People Go To Grace Church?
We enjoy the fact that everyone from young professionals, college students, teens, and young families, to empty-nesters call GCS home. Many of us live in Spokane and Spokane Valley but there are others who drive from the surrounding Post Falls/Coeur d’Alene area. Our backgrounds and addresses are varied, but we all share the same need:  a community of friends where we can come as we are to learn more about God, experience His fierce unconditional love for us, and discover how we fit in His compelling mission in the world!

What If I’ve Never Been To Church Before?
There are no prerequisites for church attendance; come as you are, get some coffee and/or a doughnut and settle in. We start by singing together (you are welcome to stand or sit, and to participate as much as you want), followed by a brief coffee break, and then a 30-40 minute message from the Bible. That’s it! We hope you will feel welcomed and want to connect even more. If you do, we have many opportunities for this as well.

What Should I Wear?
Come as you are. We have a very casual “feel” to our meetings, so you won’t feel out of place in jeans and a t-shirt. If you want to dress up, that’s fine too.

What Will The Worship Be Like?
At the start of each meeting we spend about 30 minutes singing songs centered on Jesus and His great salvation; we call this time worship. Some may stand or sit, some may raise their hands and some may even dance. We encourage participation, so people may share scripture verses, prayers, or words of encouragement as well. For us, this is a time to meet with God, and where we can say “God has worth, that He is worthy.”

“When I worship, I would rather my heart be without words than my words be without heart.” – Lamar Boschman

What If I’m Running Late?
We have all been late from time to time. Don’t sweat it. Better late than never, we are just glad you came! We’ll help you settle in.

How Do I Get There?
Please read our location and times page for directions.

Will I Be Asked To Give Money?
There is no expectation for guests to give. Giving is a part of how we worship God, and because worship is a choice, we will never expect or request guests to give financially towards our vision. Those who consider GCS their church home are encouraged to give with excitement and joy rather than out of obligation.

What About My Kids?
Children are very important to Grace Church. It is our desire to create a fun and engaging environment where kids learn about the greatness of Christ. Our team consists of trustworthy and trained members who have passed a background check.

Currently, we keep the kids in with us during our worship times and dismiss children ages 11 and under to age appropriate classes before the main teaching time.

What Kind Of Church Is Grace Church?
We are uninterested in “organized religion” and doing things simply for the sake of tradition. Instead, we have a desire to form authentic relationships while learning more about our amazing God and allowing Him to change our lives. We welcome your questions and desire to grow and learn together. We do our best to keep things simple and straightforward. We are a part of a family of churches worldwide called Regions Beyond. It is not a denomination but a family of churches with the same vision and values. To find out more visit: www.regions-beyond.com.  Regions Beyond is also connected to an even wider international family called Newfrontiers, and you can find out more about that here: www.NewFrontiersTogether.org

What Are The Messages Like?
The goal of our teachings is life transformation, not just the transmission of information. Bible knowledge is not assumed, it’s explained. We recognize that not everyone learns in a literate way, but everyone learns orally. It’s the personal stories that you remember from speeches. It’s the charisma that you found contagious. It’s the down-to-earth, practical, intellectual, emotional and personal message that gets set apart in your mind. We don’t achieve that every time, but it’s our goal. We teach directly from the Bible but in a relevant style. See for yourself!

How Long Are The Meetings?
Our meetings last about 1.5 hours, you are welcome to stay a while and visit afterwards if you don’t have immediate plans (See our location and times page for the times of the meetings). We have a free book for all our first time guests, so grab one as you leave. It’s a little thank you for visiting and staying till the end!

If I Like It, How Do I Get Involved?
The best ways are to join a small group, serve on a Sunday morning or become a member. Just fill out our connection card on Sunday morning and let us know what interests you most. We’ll help you from there!
