Destination Church will be a new and developing church in Spokane with a vision to serve, connect, and empower the people of Spokane and beyond.
We hope that when you come to one of our gatherings you will sense that you belong. We want you to relax, settle in, grab a drink, and be open to what God might have in store for you. We understand that you may have some questions, such as “What should I wear?” “Is there childcare?” “What kind of songs will they sing?” “Will they ask me to stand and introduce myself?!” We have been in that same place with those questions in our minds as well. We want to provide information here that can help put you at ease and give you a glimpse of what Destination Church is like so that when you step through our doors you can focus on Jesus rather than the butterflies in your stomach. We can’t wait to see you here! If you have any questions, please contact us. We’d love to hear from you.
What Kind Of People Go To Destination Church?
We enjoy the fact that everyone from young professionals, college students, teens, and young families, to empty-nesters can happily call Destination Church home. Our backgrounds and addresses are varied, but we all share the same need: a community of friends where we can come as we are to learn more about God, experience His fierce unconditional love for us, and discover how we fit in His compelling mission in the world!
What If I’ve Never Been To Church Before?
There are no prerequisites for church attendance; come as you are, get some coffee, and and settle in. We usually start by singing together (you are welcome to stand or sit, and to participate as much as you want), followed by a brief coffee break, and then a 30-40 minute message from the Bible. We hope you will feel welcomed and want to connect even more. If you do, we have many opportunities for this as well.
What Should I Wear?
Come as you are. We have a very casual “feel," so you won’t feel out of place in jeans and a t-shirt. If you want to dress up, that’s fine too.
What Will The Worship Be Like?
At the start of each meeting we spend about 30 minutes singing songs centered on Jesus and His great salvation. Some may stand or sit, some may raise their hands in surrender or celebration, and some may even dance. We encourage participation, so people may share scripture verses, prayers, or words of encouragement as well. For us, this is a time to meet with God, and where we can say “God has worth, that He is worthy.”
What If I’m Running Late?
We have all been late from time to time. Don’t sweat it. Better late than never, we are just glad you came! We’ll help you settle in.
How Do I Get There?
Please read our location and times page for directions.
Will I Be Asked To Give Money?
There is no expectation for guests to give. Giving is a part of how we worship God, and because worship is a choice, we will never expect guests to give financially towards our vision. Those who consider Destination Church their church home are encouraged to give with excitement and joy rather than out of obligation.
What About My Kids?
Children are very important to Destination Church. It is our desire to create a fun and engaging environment where kids learn about the greatness of Christ. As we grow and develop this ministry, our children's team will consist of trustworthy and trained members who have passed a background check.
What Kind Of Church Is Destination Church?
We have a desire to form authentic relationships while learning more about our amazing God and allowing Him to change our lives. We welcome your questions and desire to grow and learn together. We do our best to keep things simple and straightforward. We are a part of a family of churches worldwide called Regions Beyond. It is not a denomination, but a family of churches with the same vision and values. To find out more visit: www.regions-beyond.com.
What Are The Messages Like?
The goal of our teachings is life transformation, not just the transmission of information. Bible knowledge is not assumed, it’s explained. We recognize that not everyone learns in a literate way, but everyone learns orally. It’s the personal stories that you tend to remember from speeches. It’s the charisma that you found contagious. It’s the down-to-earth, practical, intellectual, emotional and personal message that gets set apart in your mind. We don’t achieve that every time, but it’s our goal. We teach directly from the Bible but in a relevant style. See for yourself!
How Long Are The Meetings?
Our meetings typically last about 1.5 hours, and you are welcome to stay awhile and visit afterwards if you don’t have immediate plans (See our location and times page for the times of the meetings).
If I Like It, How Do I Get Involved?
Let's start with friendship and getting to know one another. As we get to know you, and you get to know us, we’ll help you from there! Destination Church is new, so there will be many opportunities to connect and to serve!
